I had a fantastic session and was very impressed by your method of instructing.
It was important for me to feel at ease as this was my first attempted at fishing for one species instead of my usual coarse fishing of chuck in a bunch of maggots and hope for the best.
What was also very important was that you didn't leave a subject until we were both happy that I had grasped the idea. Using a marker rod was totally alien to me but I came away confident that I could go out and put all I learned into practice.
Making my own rig was extremely satisfying as I caught my biggest fish on a rig that I had built less than 30 minutes before hand.
I will be building my own rigs from now on and not buying ready made rigs from the tackle shop, I will also be using the "How to" features on the Smart Carping web site as a prompt.
Thorpe Lea was an excellent location and all the staff were very friendly and helpful, again this put me at ease, please pass on thanks to Gary, Ray and all the staff at Thorpe Lea Fisheries, I will be making the journey down again.
Thanks for posting the photos they look great and I can prove to friends and family that I wasn't spinning them a fisherman's tale.
