Prior to my day with Ian, I'd only ever really scratched the surface of fishing! A float here, a ledger and a whole load of enthusiasm aimed at catching an unsuspecting monster who just happened to be passing by my bait. Truth is I hadn't a clue where to fish, how deep to fish, why or where the fish would be feeding and how to present a bait.
Wind forward 1 day and I can confidently say, that has all changed! I've just had an absolutely fantastic day with Ian and if you, like me fancy taking your understanding of fishing to a whole new level, find the money from somewhere and phone Ian NOW!!
The things we covered in our 1 day session simply wouldn't occur to the basic fishing enthusiast. Lake depths and terrains and marker rods, fish feeding patterns and habits, tackle for catching fish and tackle for catching anglers (I loved this one) and the importance of fishing etiquette and safety.
To be honest, I'll only use a fraction of what I've learn from Ian the next time I fish - but the point is, my options are now only limited by equipment (or lack of it) and not KNOWLEDGE!!
Thanks Ian, your friendly, patient and empathetic style made learning from you an absolute pleasure. Let me try out some of the things you've taught me and I'll be back for more!!
